The Southern Saints are excited to announce the re-signing of young guns Georgia Foran, Grace Hodder, Charlotte Ryan and Abbey Tregellis ahead of the rebel 2024 VFLW season.
Georgia Foran
Georgia Foran, a former Sandringham Dragon, debuted for the Southern Saints in 2023, playing 10 games and averaging 12 disposals throughout the season. She ranked second in our re-bound 50s for 2023, behind key defender Tessa Boyd.
Foran is strong overhead and in the contest and has a penetrating kick. She competes consistently and brings a natural ability to read the ball in flight.
Grace Hodder
Grace Hodder is a familiar face at the Southern Saints and has re-signed after playing 8 games in the red, white and black in 2023.
The cheerleader-turned-footballer shows great intent at the ball and has been described as very ‘coachable’ demonstrating a willingness to constantly learn.
Charlotte Ryan
Charlotte Ryan was one of only four players to play every game for the Saints in 2023, averaging 10 disposals.
Ryan came to the Southern Saints through the Coates Talent League in 2021 and was awarded Best Emerging Player for the Southern Saints in 2022. Her father, Peter, played 120 games for the Sandringham Football Club from 1987 to 1993.
A handy winger who continues to develop, we're excited to see where Ryan’s football will go this year.
Abbey Tregellis
Abbey Tregellis is a former Dandenong Stingray who debuted for the Southern Saints in 2023 and has well and truly cemented her place on the VFLW list. She played 10 games last season and was our third highest goal kicker.
Tregellis is a versatile player, showing excellent signs as a forward but also proving she can play in other positions.
We can't wait to see all our young talent continue to develop at VFLW level.
