What went down at our Season Launch 2018
08/04/2018
On Thursday night, the club held its season launch at the social rooms Sandy by the Bay. It was a fantastic event, with over 100 people in attendance including the 35 Sandringham listed players, coaching staff, doctors, physio's, trainers, support staff and volunteers.
Club CEO David Cannizzo opened the night and set the tone for the year. Creating a positive and enjoyable environment for all players, coaches and support staff.
“All clubs pride themselves on being a family away from home and a big focus of mine this year is to make this place fun and enjoyable,” Cannizzo explained.
Four-time premiership coach David Parkin was a guest speaker for the night and spoke to the players about the importance of having a purpose. He spoke encouragingly about how it is imperative for everyone to know what their purpose and to be passionate about that purpose.
In what made the whole moment meaningful, the players, coaching and support staff were presented their packs for the 2018 season by Parkin.
Senior Coach Aaron Hamill was interviewed by Cannizzo and spoke about his fundamental priorities for the players in his inaugural year of senior coaching at the Club.
Co-captains Kade Answerth and Myke Cook spoke to the group about the Zeal Spirit, and what exactly that means and being a playing group that is relentless in every aspect of the game.
There was plenty of positive feedback for the night, and we look forward to a really good 2018 season.
