Round 1 Preview
The start of the home-and-away season marks a new era for VFL football, with a competition structure that will feature teams from Victoria, New South Wales and Queensland in the largest second-tier football competition in Australia.
For the Sandringham Zebras, the new season brings much excitement after a solid preseason campaign.
The Zebras were able to get convincing wins over both North Melbourne and Essendon during the practice games, although they suffered a tough defeat at the hands of Werribee.
Nonetheless, their performances across the preseason have been impressive, as they have worked on their game style under head coach Jake Batchelor and have managed to get games into several young players.
The Zebras take on 2019 VFL premiers Richmond in Round 1 before heading to Port Melbourne for their Round 2 matchup. The Zebras will then return home to Wilson Storage Trevor Barker Beach Oval in Round 3 against Box Hill.
We encourage all Sandringham fans to try and get along to the game and show your support for the Zebras after what was a tough 2020. Let’s start the season off with a win! GO ZEBS!
