Vale Graeme Clarke
25/07/2024
Our condolences and thoughts are with the family and friends of Graeme Clarke, following his recent passing.
Graeme was a former player, coach and volunteer. He started playing for Sandy in 1955 and went on to coach in the 1960s. During this time, Graeme coached the Sandy thirds to their first ever Premiership in 1966 and followed that up with another two Premierships in 1967 and 1968. He then coached the Seconds/Reserves to a Premiership in 1969 before becoming coach of the Seniors in 1970.
Graeme travelled from the Yarra Valley as a volunteer for the Zebs and was awarded the Extra Mile Award in 2006 and Best Clubman Award in 2008. One of his roles as a volunteer was helping out as a water boy for the Seniors.
Rest in peace, Graeme.
