Our thoughts are with the family and friends of Doug Gardner, following his recent passing. 

Doug started following Sandringham in the 1980s when a friend’s grandson started playing for the Zebras and was a fantastic Sandringham Football Club man. He was our umpire escort up until our last home game at Wilson Storage Trevor Barker Beach Oval in August 2024 and previously operated the scoreboard by the interchange bench.

Doug was a Sandringham FC Life Member and a very generous donor.

He was selfless, committed, loyal and generous and will be deeply missed.

Rest in peace, Doug. 

Doug's funeral will be held on Thursday 31 October at 2pm at W D Rose, 139 Marriage Rd, Brighton East.
