Vale Dave Burgin

The Sandringham Football Club is deeply saddened by the passing of Vice-President and Life Member, Dave Burgin. 

Dave has been involved with the Sandringham Football Club since 1978. He began as a Committee Member and was inducted into the Sandringham FC Hall of Fame in 2014. Dave has volunteered his time around the Club since the late 1970’s. His love for the football club developed as he spent plenty of his free time coming down to watch games prior to his direct involvement.

Before becoming involved with the Club, Dave worked as a contractor in the trucking industry. Dave looked back with extremely fond memories when the Club won the 1985 Premiership. He believed this was a defining moment in his time with the Club.

He spent recent years collecting the mail, stocking the beer booth and attending as many games and club functions as he could. 

It’s people like Dave that make football clubs and he will be missed.

The funeral service to celebrate the life of Dave Burgin will be held at Sandy By The Bay, Trevor Barker Beach Oval, Beach Road, Sandringham on Monday 1 May 2023 at 1.00pm. The funeral service will also be Webcast live. For more information, visit the Tobin Brothers website.
