Faimalo & Latreille back for 2025
05/02/2025
The Sandringham Football Club is excited to announce the re-signings of Misilifi Faimalo and Sammy Latreille for the 2025 season!
Misilifi Faimalo
Samoan-born and raised in New Zealand, Faimalo grew up playing rugby before trying his hand at AFL. A former captain of both the Wellington Samoans Rugby U18 side and U21 rugby team, he brings a wealth of leadership experience to a very young Zebs side. He quickly made a name for himself in AFL New Zealand’s U18 Academy and senior men’s program, and was named the AFL NZ U18 Player of the Year in 2018.
Moving to Australia in 2019 he played for Richmond in the VFL from 2022 to 2023 before joining Sandringham last season. A dynamic forward-midfielder, Faimalo brings electric pace and skill to the Zebras, playing the first two games of the season before injury kept him on the sidelines for the rest of 2024.
Excited for the season ahead and back into full training, he keeps it simple, saying, “God is good.”
Samuel Latreille
Latreille has been part of the Zebs for two years, making his VFL debut in 2023. A product of the St Kilda Next Generation Academy, he played for the Dandenong Stingrays in the Coates Talent League in 2022 and continues to develop his craft with his local club, the Frankston Bombers.
A versatile half-forward/wing, Latreille plays a crucial role in linking up play and supporting the tall forwards. His work ethic and enthusiasm are second to none, saying,
“It’s a blessing rocking up every day and working hard with the boys, there’s good vibes while we work towards our goals together.”
We can’t wait to see Misi and Sammy running around in the yellow, black, and blue again in 2025!
