We’re pleased to announce the re-signing of Meg Ginnivan, Jemima Wrigley and Dakota Mason for season 2024.
Meg Ginnivan
Ginnivan's first year with the Saints was unfortunately cut short as a result of a knee injury. She amassed 10 disposals and seven tackles on debut for the Saints and is a talented Castlemaine Magpie Women’s footballer (and 2022 Premiership Captain) who finished equal first in the Central Victoria Football League Best & Fairest Vote Count in 2022.
Ginnivan's commitment to her development and the game itself, and her fit with our Southern Saints culture, make her an important part of the team. We can't wait to see more of her in 2024!
Jemima Wrigley
Wrigley is an inside mid with explosive speed and a hard, uncompromising style of play. She tackles hard and plays for her team, fighting to win the ball wherever she can and never shying away from a contest. She averaged 12.7 disposals and 7.1 tackles in her 10 games in 2023.
A natural leader, Wrigley was promoted to the Southern Saints leadership group in her first year at the club and took home the 2023 Southern Saints Coaches Award.
We are so excited to have her back at the Southern Saints in 2024!
Dakota Mason
Mason is an exciting, raw player who shows maturity beyond her years and always puts the team first. She joined us in 2023 and was previously part of the Sydney Swans AFLW academy and the Allies Under 18s squad in 2022, where she showed her team-first mentality and desire to improve.
Despite a knee injury ending Mason's 2023 season early, we hope to one day see her play at AFLW level. We're excited to have her on board again in 2024!
