The Sandringham Football Club are excited to announce the signings of Luke Ryan, Will Vesely and Levi Young just two weeks out from round one!
Luke Ryan
Luke Ryan was a train on with the Zebs in 2023, with his consistent effort and hard work earning him a contract late into the season.
Primarily positioned at half-back, Ryan played his junior football at Officer and Pakenham, where he played in back-to-back grand finals in U11s and U12s.
He joined the Cora Lynn Football Club's U18s at the age of 17 and played his first seniors game in round three of the season, as well as playing finals his past two years at the club.
After an impressive preseason, Ryan is looking to make his VFL debut this season, which we are already excited for!
Will Vesely
Will Vesely joined the Zebs in 2022 as a train on after finishing in the Coates Talent League, where he played for the Sandringham Dragons in 2021. His local club now being the Caulfield Grammarians.
Almost a key position player at 193cm, Vesely’s versatility allows him to play through the midfield and forward line. His elite ball movement and agility is something to look out for this season!
Younger brother to St Kilda FC’s AFLW player Olivia Vesely, he is sure to be a great addition to the Zebs this season.
Levi Young
Levi Young grew up in WA playing football and basketball and made state teams for Jiu Jitsu and Kung Fu in his younger years.
Young completed a preseason at Claremont Football Club in 2022 before joining Subiaco Football Club. He managed a few games before an ankle injury ended his season.
In 2023, he played his first full year of football in 10 years for the Sandringham Dragons after moving to Melbourne.
Young has shown a lot of promise in the ruck over our last two practice matches. Younger brother to Zebs player Logan Young, we can’t wait to see these two out on the field together!
We look forward to seeing Luke, Will and Levi in the yellow, black and blue this season!
