The Saints pulled off a massive surprise at ETU Stadium, comfortably defeating Port Melbourne and advancing to the 2021 VFLW semi-finals.
Coming in as underdogs, it was close for most of the match until we blew them out of the water in the last quarter to run away with a 34-point victory.
Tara Bohanna was dominant in her penultimate game with us, kicking two goals and gathered a game-high 20 disposals (16 of which were kicks) plus four tackles. Gabby De Angelis was also key up forward, acquiring 18 disposals, three tackles plus kicking a goal.
Key Factors:
Despite the Borough not hitting their straps so far this season (due to playing all their games away), players such as Olivia Barton, Akalya Peterson & Sophie Locke have still put up terrific numbers.
Barton will be the main player to shut down as she has consistently held down the fort down back despite Port Melbourne conceding the second most points this season.
Last time around it was our midfield dominance which played a major role in us pulling off that finals upset. On the day we acquired 79 more disposals (233-154) and won the clearances 38-17.
