Peter Jackson VFL Round 15
Sandringham Zebras vs. Geelong Cats
Trevor Barker Beach Oval, Sandringham
2:00pm Sunday July 15, 2018
Last 5 – Sandringham: 4, Geelong: 1
Last Time They Met: Round 2, 2018 - Geelong 9.8 (62) DEF BY Sandringham 9.10 (64)
Sandringham will host Geelong on Sunday at Trevor Barker Beach Oval at 2pm, with high hopes of trying to get their season back on track after not capitalising on the 4 points last week with their 32 point lead at three-quarter time.
The Zebras will go into this match with some confidence, having beaten the Cats in round 2. However, Geelong now sit in 3rd position having suffered just 3 losses for the season, while Sandringham have been inconsistent. Winning this match would be huge for Sandringham, and will prove that they still have what it takes to make finals.
Geelong had a good win last week, taking down Frankston by 70 points with eight individual goal-kickers. Stewart Crameri had an absolute day out kicking five goals, three of which were in the final quarter to really run over the Dolphins. The Zebras’ defence will have their work cut out for them in stopping that happening to us this week.
Kai Owens comes in as our 23rd man this week, ready for his debut. Tom Hickey and Rowan Marshall have earned senior call ups this week at St Kilda after a stellar effort. Billy Longer comes back into the side after a couple of weeks at senior level.
