The Les Twentyman Foundation provides vital support and outreach services for “at risk” youth.
Staff of the Les Twentyman Foundation provide young people with access to counselling and guidance, encouraging them to make positive decisions for themselves.
They help to connect “at risk” youth with services that will provide them with the tools to make progressive changes to the path they might taking.
A really helpful program that the foundation has established, is the Redskins Basketball Club.
This initiative, provides guidance to thousands of young people, using sport as a basis to provide them with important life skills that are required to handle difficult situations.
The foundation also runs leadership programs to help with self-esteem and self-worth issues that young people who are dealing with difficult personal, social, financial and ethnic circumstances are often faced with.
The Smorgon 20th Man Fund Accommodation Units were opened in 1994 and every year provides a refuge for up to 200 homeless youth.
The facility is funded by the Federal Government’s Supported Accommodation Assistance Program, and managed by the Melbourne City Mission.
