New Sainters sign on for 2023
20/02/2023
We are pleased to announce the new signings of Beth Pinchin and Jemima Wrigley ahead of the 2023 season.
Jemima Wrigley
Wrigley is an up and coming 22 year old that lets her football do the talking. With explosive speed and incomparable work rate, she is set to be a very sought after AFLW draft prospect.
Wrigley came up through NSW-ACT pathways, becoming Captain of the Southern Power AFL team in Sydney before moving to the Swans as a train on.
“I'm very excited to have Jemima onboard. Not only is her football impressive, and I believe the missing link we are missing, but she is also a wonderful human. Jemima is a natural leader and will pave the way, showing extreme professionalism and honour in her game that will surely lead our young team,” says VFLW Head Coach, Michelle Densley.
Beth Pinchin
Pinchin comes to us with immense experience and professionalism. Despite suffering an ACL injury last year, she is one of the most composed and clever football players in the VFLW/AFLW program.
Named Co-Captain of Gold Coast's 2018 Winter Series squad, Pinchin is a strong overhead mark and makes good decisions. After being picked up by Brisbane AFLW in 2020, Beth has some unfinished business and will be bidding to take her football to another level this year.
Densley spoke of the signing, “I am super excited to have Beth with us this year. A very handy back turned forward, Beth not only shows immense smarts and composure while bringing some class back to the game, she is also a natural leader and we are already seeing her step up in the group.”
