Meet Sandringham's newest off-field recruit
28/08/2018
The Sandringham Football Club is excited to announce the appointment of Kelly Jones as its new Marketing & Commercial Manager. After an extensive recruitment process, the selection committee were unanimous in their recommendation that the club appoint Kelly in this new and exciting role.
Kelly Jones is passionate about sport and community, and has a strong marketing and commercial background, which will ensure the club thrives into the future. Her role will be focussed on market awareness surrounding the Club and its function centre Sandy by the Bay, and grow existing contribution streams and develop new ones.
Sandringham Football Club spoke to Kelly during the week about this new appointment.
“I’m really excited to be joining the Sandringham Football Club. I am passionate about sport and the benefit it brings to communities. This is a fantastic opportunity to be part of a club with such a proud history during a strong growth phase,” Jones told the club.
Kelly’s experience in sport and health marketing is broad and will prove vital to the club’s future marketing success.
“I have held Marketing and Sponsorship Management roles with a number of local organisations including a community football and netball league and more recently, an allied health group where I was primarily responsible for the development of sporting club partnerships.”
Kelly also teaches Sports Management at Chisolm TAFE and is an elected member of the City of Kingston Sport and Recreation Reference Group, where she plays an important role providing the council with much needed feedback on Sport and Recreation community policy and planning.
“I am very focused on marketing initiatives that drive tangible business outcomes and this will be my main objective. I will be looking to develop and implement a strategic marketing plan in line with the overarching strategic plan.”
“Driving commercial opportunities and revenue growth for both the Club and Sandy by the Bay will be key deliverables from this. I am committed to developing strong stakeholder engagement, exploring new contribution streams and leading activity that generates brand awareness and bottom line benefit,” Jones explained.
Earlier this year, the Board implemented a new strategic plan which the Club recently reviewed, and it was determined that now is the right time to introduce this specific skill set to ensure that the Club can meet its current and future goals.
Club chief executive David Cannizzo spoke glowingly of the appointment.
“We are delighted with the appointment of Kelly and look forward to welcoming her to our team and supporting her in growing all marketing and commercial aspects of this great club.”
