The Zebs powered on from the previous week with a nail biting one point win over Frankston.

It was a rocky first quarter as Frankston came out firing with four goals to our sole behind. Despite the slow start, we were able to limit the Dolphins to just one goal per quarter for the rest of the game.
Max Hall, Hugo Hall-Kahan, and Hugo Garcia each kicked a goal to start our comeback, leaving us only 11 points behind at half time. It was a great intercept mark by Hall-Kahan to kick his goal on the run, making it two in a row for the Zebs which gave us the momentum we needed to keep in touch. This was followed by Garcia’s rebounded mark, running through the pack and kicking a goal whilst spinning his body around.
The second half started off strong as Cooper Sharman kicked the first goal of the third quarter, bringing us within five points of Frankston. This was followed by a goal and three behinds scored by Frankston before Brad Crouch responded with a goal at the 23rd minute, cutting the margin to just eight points.
Darby Hipwell almost kicked a ripping goal to start the fourth quarter, but it was unfortunately touched on the line. Not long after, Will Vesely kicked his first goal of the game to get us within three points. Sharman’s wonderful goal, kept in from the boundary at the 24th minute, put us in front for the first time in the game. With just two points the margin, it was a stressful end to the quarter as both teams were fighting to score a goal and seal the game. Sharman’s intercept mark under pressure came at just the right time to let the boys reset, with the siren sounding not long after.
Sandringham Zebras: 0.1 3.5 5.6 8.7 (55)
Frankston: 4.2 5.4 6.10 7.12 (54)
