Luca Macnab will add another chapter to his footballing career this year after re-signing with the Sandy Zebs.
Recruited from the Sandringham Dragons at the end of 2022, the upbeat half-back made an early impression with his run off halfback and good usage by foot, and quickly became a dependable member of the playing group.
Unfortunately, Macnab’s 2023 campaign was closed before managing a game at senior level due to injury.
Ahead of the preseason matchups, Macnab’s outlook on the season is positive.
“Obviously last year was a difficult year for me with injuries. Not only physically but also mentally. I am someone that hasn’t really dealt with injuries in a good way where I start to overthink a little. But with the help of coaches and my teammates I’ve learnt to deal with these things better. I am super excited for the season ahead; the boys are in great shape and personally I’ve never felt more fit and ready for a football season.”
The hard-working 20-year-old is set to make an impact this year at senior level with the Zebs. With goals of breaking into the team and playing some consistent VFL football, dedicating hours of effort in the pre-season to put him right in the frame for Round 1.
The Brighton Grammar and Sandringham Dragons product is known widely for his ability to connect with teammates and the wider community, and we are thrilled to welcome him back for what is set to be a dazzling year with the Zebs.
