We are pleased to announce that Oliver Lowe has re-signed for the 2024 season.
Adding versatility and strength to our forward line, Lowe was a consistent contributor across the 2023 season, taking to the field for fifteen games.
Whilst continuing to work on ‘the dream of AFL’, Lowe has proven an asset to the Zebras side - taking out our 2022 Leading Goalkicker award in his first VFL season.
In 2023, his best games came in Round One against Southport - which saw him establish himself amongst the forward group - and in Round Two against Essendon, where he took home a three-goal haul.
His strong overhead mark and ability to lead makes him a damaging forward target. Head Coach Jake Batchelor recognises both Lowe’s talent and the point of difference he brings to the Zebras.
"He is a tricky size to try match up on,” he said.
“If you beat him in the air, you won’t get him on the ground and vice versa.”
His dynamic skills and goal sense are too an asset, and it comes as no surprise to hear that he models his game off both Eddie Betts and Nick Riewoldt.
“Growing up was definitely Betts… [I would] spend a lot of time out on the oval, mainly in the pockets doing snaps and bananas like Eddie.” he said.
“Riewoldt was another one … I definitely modelled my game around him.”
We can’t wait to continue sharing Lowe's highlight reel for another year whilst he continues to grow.
