The Sandringham Football Club are excited to announce the re-signing of Sam Latreille and the signings of Josh Docking and Will Nish for the 2024 season.
Sam Latreille
Sam Latrielle returns to Wilson Storage Trevor Baker Beach Oval after an impressive debut season in the yellow black and blue in 2023. A small forward who gets creative within the forward 50 arc, Latreille played nine games last year and was a great asset in supporting our taller forwards.
"His speed and cleanliness are a great contribution to our team," says VFL Head Coach, Jake Batchelor
Prior to joining Sandy, Latreille spent time in the Saints Next Generation Academy, a program that helps develop potential players both male and female with Indigenous and Multicultural heritage from ages 11-18. It has successfully produced players such as AFL-listed Mitch Owens and Marcus Windhager.
Will Nish
Also a product of the STK Next Gen Academy, Will Nish joins the Zebras after a successful year with the Sandringham Dragons, averaging 15.1 disposals and was part of the AFL Coates Talent League Grand Final team.
Nish will without a doubt fit in at the Zebras having played over 100 games, at local level, for the Beaumaris Sharks, one of the many clubs we see our younger players come from.
Josh Docking
A former Sandringham Dragon, Docking joins the Zebras after a successful 2023 campaign. With great speed and agility, he was able to highlight multiple traits with his outside midfield craft last season and prides himself on the way he is able to position himself ahead of the ball to allowing for effective inside 50 entries.
"I just love having the ball in my hands and using that run and carry, the speed to weave through traffic and find targets up the field." said Docking
A member of the STK Academy, Docking has gained the experience on what it takes to be a professional athlete at the highest level. The winger spent once a week at RSEA Park training under Nick Dal Santo and was even lucky enough to be invited to train with St Kilda's AFL side.
We wish all three men nothing but the best for the season ahead and we look forward to them representing the Football Club this year.
