Lachlan Harris appointed VFLW Head Coach
06/09/2024
Sandringham Football Club is pleased to announce Lachlan Harris as our new VFLW Head Coach.
Harris joins us with years of knowledge in the women’s football space and has also been an assistant coach with our VFL program in 2024.
“We’re thrilled to have Lachie on board for the 2025 season,” Sandringham FC CEO Marcus Ashcroft said.
“We’re really proud of our VFLW program and can’t wait to have Lachie join us.”
Harris, who will continue to hold an assistant coaching role in St Kilda’s AFLW program, is excited to tackle the role.
“Sandringham is a club with a proud history in Melbourne’s bayside and I’m honoured to play my role in hopefully bringing further success to the club,” Harris said.
“I’ve worked with a number of the players already through my role with the Saints but am looking forward to hitting the ground running this pre-season with the full group.”
St Kilda Executive General Manager of AFLW Tessie McManus said Harris’ appointment was a great reflection of the alignment between the two clubs.
“The relationship between St Kilda and Sandringham is as strong as ever and this is just another sign of that,” McManus said.
“I know I speak for our men’s program too when I say we want to see both levels, AFL/W and VFL/W, thriving, and we’re confident that with Lachie in this role we’re taking further steps towards seeing that.”
The pre-season dates for the VFLW competition will be confirmed in the coming months.
