Kade Answerth and Brede Seccull Depart
15/12/2020
Sandringham Football club wish to farewell former captains and club champions Kade Answerth and Brede Seccull, who have both decided to step away from the Zebras.
Kade joined Sandy in 2016 after winning the Oakleigh Chargers best and fairest the previous year. In his first season with the Zebras he was runner up in the Neil Bencraft Medal, before winning it in 2017.
In 2018 the midfielder was named Co-Captain and in 2019 Vice-Captain, as he went on to take out the club’s most courageous player award, after playing most of the season with a broken hand.
Kade was signed on to play in 2020 before Covid 19 forced the cancellation of the season. He finishes with 70 games and 30 goals to his name.
Brede is a former Sandringham Dragon who came to Sandy in 2018 from South Adelaide, where he won a Best and Fairest in 2016.
In his first year the onballer won the Neil Bencraft Medal, before tying with Brandon White for the Medal in 2019. He was named as Club Captain in 2019 and was due to take on the role again in 2020. He ends his time at the Zebras with 34 appearances.
Brede is going back to Old Haileybury in the VAFA, to play with his brothers Durras and Rayner. He and his partner Charlene also have a baby on the way, due early next year.
Everyone at Sandy would like to thank both Kade and Brede for their contributions to Sandy and hope to see them around the club in the future. We wish them well for their future endeavours both on and off the field.
