The Southern Saints are excited to announce the signings of Eva Nikolitsis, Chloe Saultry, Ashleigh Russell and Jade Cilia for season 2024.
Eva Nikolitsis
Nikolitsis joins us from Collingwood VFLW where she played in the 2023 VFLW Grand Final.
She was awarded Collingwood's Best First Year Player in 2023 and was Collingwood's second-highest ranked for average disposals (16.1) and clearances (4.3).
Nikolitsis also averaged 2.4 marks, 5.7 tackles and kicked four goals in seven games at VFLW level in 2023 and was the 2022 SFNL Women's Football Division 2 Best and Fairest winner prior to joining the Pies.
Chloe Saultry
Saultry is a former Dragon and Southern Sainter, returning to the club ahead of the 2024 VFLW season. She played 15 games for the Southern Saints in 2022, including the Grand Final against Essendon.
The 21 year old plays across half back, and can shut down key forwards as well as add to our attack out of the backline.
Saultry has put in the work this pre-season and we can't wait to see her back in the red, white and black.
Ashleigh Russell
Russell took part in our Trial Day earlier this year and joins us from Bond University (QAFLW), making the move down to Melbourne.
The 18 year-old forward has played over 180 games in her eight years of football, playing with junior clubs Palm Beach Currumbin Lions and Broadbeach FC. Over her football career, Russell has played in nine Grand Finals and won six of them.
She has also been part of the Gold Coast SUNS Academy and we're super excited to have her at the Southern Saints.
Jade Cilia
Cilia is another recruit from our Trial Day, joining us from the Western Jets in the Coates Talent League.
The 18 year-old explosive, hard-working small forward started playing junior footy in 2019.
She's fast and can work up the ground to apply tackle pressure, but can also transition fast into offensive.
We can't wait to see what Cilia will bring to the Southern Saints in 2024.
