Five more commit to the Zebras for 2020
23/12/2019
Sandringham are excited to welcome a handful of signings who have all committed to the club for season 2020.
Jack Toner, Chris Horton-Milne, Will Mitchell, Riley Thompson and Riley Virtue have all put pen to paper to represent the yellow, black and blue next year.
Jack Toner
An 18-year old exiting the NAB League system in which he played almost every game this year with the Dandenong Stingrays.
In those games he averaged 20 disposals as a mid/half-back and is not afraid to put his head over the footy.
Has worked as hard as anyone in the off-season and has impressed the coaches greatly.
Chris Horton-Milne
Chris has tasted plenty of success with Dingley in SFNL Div 1 in the last four years, playing in three Grand Finals (winning all of them) and being named best on ground in two of them.
The 26-year old has dominated the midfield for Dingley and is ferocious with his attack on the footy, is strong and is clean with his skills.
He will add another dimension and a mature body to our midfield in 2020.
Will Mitchell
Will knows how to find the footy, just like his brother Tom.
Will won the Old Carey Grammarians Reserves Best & Fairest in 2018 before making the move to Old Scotch this season, where they made it all the way through to the Grand Final.
Will featured in their best players on 13 out of 15 occasions, including every final Old Scotch played in.
We believe Will is another great addition to our midfield group.
Riley Thompson
Riley featured for the Old Haileyburians this year and adds to the tall forward stocks at Sandringham FC.
Riley averaged a goal a game in 2019 and is extremely strong in the air.
We look forward to seeing what Riley can produce in 2020.
Riley Virtue
Riley is another player that adds to the ever-growing number of Sandringham Dragons on the Zebras list.
Riley has impressed greatly throughout the pre-season, and has great experience up against mature-aged bodies representing Beaumaris in VAFA Premier B (when he wasn't playing for the Dragons).
Riley played 15 games for Beaumaris and featured in their best players on ten occasions, a great feat at 18 years of age.
