Last Time They Met: Round 10, 2017 – Sandringham 8.15 (63) DEF BY Coburg 13.10 (88)
Sandringham take on the winless Coburg Lions on Saturday at Piranha Park, in a bid to go back-to-back after their upset winning performance against Port Melbourne last week. A win this week will see the Zebras go 6-6 at an important stage of the season.
The last time these two teams met, the Lions won by 25 points and it followed a nine-match losing streak. Coburg are good overhead, having out-marked North Melbourne 114-76 last week despite going down by 57 points. Sandringham will need to be switched on, and not go into this match thinking they have it won.
The Zebras welcome back impressive youngster Jackson Hille who has had a number of stints as the 23rd man, and is this week named in the best 22. He is joined by a number of exciting Sandringham talent making their return this week as Hayden McLean, Luke Verma and Jack Noone are also given an opportunity.
Logan Austin, Sam Gilbert and Nathan Wright have all earned senior call ups for St Kilda this week after impressive performances against Port Melbourne last round.
Dependent on other matches this week, a convincing defeat over Coburg could see the Zebras move up the ladder and give themselves a real shot at the top 8 come finals.
