Carey and McHale re-sign for Zebras in 2022
1/12/2021
The Sandringham Football Club have confirmed the re-signings of Chris Carey and Jack McHale ahead of the 2022 VFL season.
We are delighted to announce that Chris Carey and Jack McHale have signed on for the 2022 VFL season.
Carey played 8 games for the Zebras last season, and was voted Co-Vice Captain. He played a pivotal role in the squad both on and off the field with his strong leadership and high standards at training. Carey was our most accurate set shot at goal, cementing his place as a highly important part of our forward line. His ability to play in the ruck in addition to the forward line also made him a highly valuable player on matchday.
We look forward to seeing him back in 2022.
We are also excited to announce the signing of young-gun Jack McHale. McHale found some consistency with his footy in 2021, playing the majority of the VFL season after multiple years of injury disruptions prior. A smooth mover with the footy, he played a wing role for the Zebs throughout the year, often accurate on his left foot. McHale is the ultimate team man on and off the field and, since his move from the Frankston Dolphins, has been a fantastic addition to the team.
We are stoked to have him sign on again for 2022.
Football & Recruitment Manager, Josh Vella, was happy to announce the signings:
"I think it's fitting to announce the re-signing of both Chris and Jack together, as both are extremely important parts of our club culture. Both boys played critical roles on field also in 2021 and will no doubt do the same next year. Chris is extremely experienced at this level now and his competitiveness and will to win every contest holds him in good stead. Jack with a year under his belt relatively unscathed through injury will give him plenty of confidence in his body and his footy heading into 2022 and I'm excited to see him continue to develop."
