Bertuna and Henry return for 2025

The Zebras' VFLW side will feature some familiar faces as Mel Bertuna and Kiara Henry return for 2025

Mel Bertuna 

After initially beginning her VFLW journey with the club in 2021, Bertuna is back at Sandringham for a fifth consecutive season in 2025. 

Since bursting onto the scene in her debut season, Bertuna has proven to be a reliable contributor, tallying 30 appearances to date.  

The dynamic on-baller offers a strong physical presence for the Zebras, known for her ability to win the ball and put pressure on opponents with her relentless tackling. After adding more strings to her bow in 2024 with four scoring shots (2.2) in just five games, Bertuna promises to be a versatile weapon for the Zebras moving forward.

Kiara Henry 

Following her first taste of VFLW football in 2023 with the Western Bulldogs, Henry has gone onto find a home with Sandringham as she returns for a second season at the club. 

An energetic speedster, Henry emerged as a key part of the Zebras' future after accumulating a career-best 10 disposals and three marks in a tight match against Port Melbourne in her final appearance of 2024. 

Continuing her momentum over the off-season, Henry flourished in the heat of the Northern Territory, starring for the Darwin Buffaloes in the NTFL to boot nine goals.

With a dominant summer behind her, Henry will be one to watch in 2025.
