Match Preview: Practice Match
Sandringham Zebras v Williamstown Seagulls
Linen House Centre, Seaford
1:00pm Saturday 11th March 2017
Last Time They Met: VFL Semi-Final – North Port Oval
Williamstown 14.11 95 DEF 7.7 49 Sandringham
Sandringham will face Williamstown this Saturday at the Linen House Centre and after an unsuccessful result in the Zebra’s first preseason hit out the boys will be looking to respond strongly, whilst some have a bit extra to play for considering the Semi-Final loss to Williamstown last year.
The Zebra’s will be adding a number of their Sandy Dragons recruits to the line-up adding to the strong St Kilda contingent that will be fielded. The club welcomes the fresh faces as they look to make an immediate impact.
Myke Cook will be one of the returning players the Zebras will be welcoming back this week, his leadership and midfield prowess will be a valued addition to the team.
The Zebs fans will have the opportunity to see plenty of new faces as well as cast their eyes once again upon Rowan Marshall and Beau Bailey, both coming off 3 goal games last week. New recruit Joel Tippett (former Kangaroo) may have the difficult task of shutting down Marshall which would provide a fantastic contest.
The match will be the first pre-season match for the Seagulls who will field a mix of both new recruits and experienced players who led them to a 2016 Preliminary final.
The development match will kick off the day at 10:30am, followed by the seniors at 1pm.
We wish Owen Lalor the best of luck in his new role as Sandringham Development Head Coach. He will be looking to start on a high!
